Detailed Information:
The Energy Resource Database contains information on energy related web sites, such as state and federal agencies, service providers, conservation and environmental interests, product suppliers, utility companies, general energy information, and much more. The public will be able to use search capabilities to help fulfill their energy information needs concerning deregulation, contacts within state agencies, Texas energy legislation, where to buy energy efficient products, or any other available energy information on the Internet. Each entry in the database will be alphabetized by entity, categorized, and will include summaries of the page with hyperlinks to the web site and the contact person for that site. There is also a keyword search for those looking for general information from all sites. The Energy Research Database is a means of coordinating research information for institutions of higher education, as well as public and private research entities. The Research Database, not fully developed at this time, will compile Texas energy research information into a central location. If you have ever tried to locate research information from a major university's web page, you will notice there is no set format for documenting the research, and much of the available data on-line is outdated, or the links to the research pages are missing or dead. Once in place, the Research Database will help better coordinate academic research, and will also provide a central location with search capabilities for anyone seeking energy research.
