Detailed Information:
"Climate Change Awareness and Action" is designed for use in grades 9 through 12 in Science, Social Studies, Geography and Environmental Studies courses. Developed by the Pembina Institute for Appropriate Development, a Canadian ENGO dedicated to finding solutions through environmental policy research and consulting, education and information services. "Climate Change Awareness and Action" is divided into four sections: The Science of Climate Change, Evidence and Impacts, Politics, Power and Public Opinion, and Taking Action. The kit contains: -over 300 pages with foreword by Dr. David Suzuki -Curriculum connections to Canadian high school courses -14 student activities -13 illustrated fact sheets -over 40 newspaper articles and cartoons -6 full page pull out print-media posters -selected bibliography and World Wide Web connections -8 full-colour transparencies -NFB video "Turning Down the Heat" -Video link booklet with student activity, video synopsis etc. For more information about the kit go to www.pembina.org/edu/overview.
