Bird Studies Canada conducts and promotes ornithological studies with an emphasis on increasing understanding of avian distribution, abundance and population changes and their underlying causes. Its programs include the Canadian Migration Monitoring Network, Canadian Lakes Loon Survey, Project FeederWatch, the Great Lakes Marsh Monitoring Program, Long Point Bird Observatory, cooperative international studies in Cuba and Malaysia and much more.Results of such studies are communicated to the scientific community, to habitat and population management agencies, to conservation groups, to volunteer participants and to the general public.
