The Environment Site was conceptualized in 1999 as a way to use the power of the Internet to help the environment. Visitors to the site make a free donation (funds come from our sponsors) that goes toward reducing CO2 emissions, the chief contributor to global warming. Donations are paid for by our sponsors, which are allowed a small banner ad that appears on the "thank you" page. No personal information is required for a visitor to make the donation. Sponsors send payments to fund donations directly to the Environmental Resources Trust.(ERT)
