The Basel Action Network or BAN is the first global network of activists seekin g to prevent the globalization of the toxics crisis. The immediate goal is the preservation and implementation of the Basel Ban, a ban on the export of hazardous waste from rich to poor countries in the Basel Convention -- an international treaty on toxic waste.
