The Fire Island Ecology Coalition is dedicated to preserving the environment on the Fire Island National Seashore. Most of Fire Island is a national park. It located south of Long Island, New York. Web site deals with such issues as flora, fauna, and beach stability, including hotly-contested issues on this geologically fragile, mixed-use (dwellings and wilderness) barrier island.
