Allowing fracking was a great mistake on Earth. It just lead to more spills, more methane leaks and more CO2 from burning. It was condemned as a practice by the vast majority of geologists, but money talked the loudest. Then we went past the tipping point of runaway global warming, and accelerating toward vertical temperature rise to 200*C.
