Hi everyone, I live in a remote town in the Northern Territory Australia. Our closest city is 3.5hours away and we have no recycling in our area. I have been burning our cardboard to reduce our landfill waste. Can someone please tell me If it would be better environmentallly to burn the rubbish or landfill it?

Depends of if you can use it for heat, otherwise how much rain for rotting it in a landfill. It can be shredded for worm food, but the shiny colored kind can not be. It has to stay damp to rot.

I don't know if this works in your NT town (BTW, I loved my vacation in Oz), but I break down my cardboard boxes, save them up, and then when I get a lot, I take them to one of those pack and ship places where they re-use the boxes.

When broken down they don't take much space, so even if you have to go to a big town once every few months, if there is a pack and ship store there, they would be happy to get them.
