"When people donate money they expect that the majority of it will go to the actual cause and not line the pockets of some corporate hack or grease the wheels to enable extravagant parties. Unforunately, when it comes to the Wounded Warrior Project the people who have been so generous with their donations have been bamboozled and the veterans in need have been, as one veteran put into a “dog and pony show.”"

They think they have legitimacy on facebook, and have other rip offs as friends who are ignorant of anything except their common greed and lack of morals. They ruin it for most of the combat disabled, except those few on their little /big show ads to get even more money for their corporate execs. 50% to salaries, 40% to ads to get more money, and 10% to a few vets.
IMHO they are felony frauds who should be in prison.

What makes it more sad is that as if the government is blind to see the truth.

It's the same here. I don't begrudge any man a fair day's pay for a fair day's work, but some of the salaries charity directors pay themselves ... Scandalous.

I believe though charities are obliged by law to state what percentage of donations go on 'administration' and what the top executive earns per annum, so it is a good idea to seek this information out before donating.

WWP Sues Combat Veteran…Again

"In 2013 the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) sued combat Veteran Dean Graham. Graham who founded Help Indiana Vets was providing 100% of contributions received directly to Veterans assistance. He thought it unconscionable that WWP was paying lavish salaries of $300,000+ to WWP executives and stated so on his blog. WWP figured they had lost about $70,000 in contributions (not sure how they came up with that amount) as a result of Dean’s blog so they filed suit in US District Court. Not being able to afford counsel to defend against WWP’s team of multiple attorneys’ Dean signed a consent judgment in June 2014. Later it was reported WWP raised $225,000,000 in 2013. $70,000 is a miniscule .0003% of their $225,000,000 intake. Go figure.

Now Vietnam wounded combat Veteran Alex Graham (no relation to Dean) recently received word he is the next target of WWP wrath. Seems 100% disabled Alex, who also advocates for brethren warriors, had the audacity to repost some of Dean’s findings and now a lot more folks are questioning WWP motives. Alex too questioned why 11 non-profit WWP executives received $2.2 million in annual salaries in 2013 as reported on tax forms as well as other peculiarities.
We know WWP commercials are misleading when they sing about Veterans “from the fields of Vietnam to the hills of Afghanistan” but their charter states only post 9/11 Veterans are eligible for assistance and other Veterans need not apply. Does the misleading advertising, the executive lavish salaries, and other inconsistencies make this a legal scam? That should be left to each individual to decide. But you’d better not say it out loud or you too may be on WWP’s target list."

Wounded Warrior Project: Padding Their Own Pockets or Helping Vets?
Posted on October 29, 2015 by Brandi Kay

wwp 2

"In the first version of this article, I used the 2012-2013 Wounded Warrior Project 990 Tax Forms. This updated version is using the 2013-2014 Wounded Warrior Project 990 Tax Forms. (Thank you, David Isakson, for all of your assistance) I had made some errors in my original reporting; I am not a forensic accountant and had misread some of the figures or gotten the figures from the wrong columns. I will not be making those mistakes again. The 2012-2013 and the 2013-2014 tax forms are hyperlinked, so feel free to peruse the documents for yourselves. We should not be surprised to find out that yet another ‘charity’ claiming to ‘help’ Veterans is more interested in the salaries of their executives and funding the vicious cycle of advertisement…raise funds…spend it on advertisement…raise funds…ad nauseum. But just the raw figures from their own reporting:

FOR THE YEAR 2012-1013

REVENUE: $234,682,943.00
EXPENSES: $158,073,943.00
TOTAL PROFITS:
$ 76,609,000.00

FOR THE YEAR 2013-2014

REVENUE: $342,066,114.00
EXPENSES: $248,005,493.00
TOTAL PROFITS: $ 94,060,675.00

TOTAL AMOUNT GOING TO ORGANIZATIONS IN 2013: $16,849,420.00

TOTAL AMOUNT GOING TO ORGANIZATIONS IN 2014: $41,305,308.00

TOTAL AMOUNT GOING TO INDIVIDUAL VETERANS IN 2013: $853,365.00
TOTAL AMOUNT GOING TO INDIVIDUAL VETERANS IN 2014: $804,393.00

Now, how about some brass tacks about what just their top three executives make per year in salaries alone, not including bonuses, retirement, and insurance.

STEVEN NARDIZZI EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR $375,000.00 in 2013
STEVEN NARDIZZI CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER $473,015.00 in 2014

ALBION GIORDANO DEPUTY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR $337,500.00 in 2013
ALBION GIORDANO CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER $369,030.00 in 2014

JEREMY CHWAT CHIEF PROGRAM OFFICER $218,267.00 in 2013
JEREMY CHWAT CHIEF PROGRAM OFFICER $262,750.00 in 2014

These are STRICTLY the amounts and descriptions from their own tax forms. This does not even begin to cover their beautiful, modern building or the seven lawsuits that they have launched against much smaller, higher rated Veterans non-profit groups, who either used the words ‘wounded warrior’ somewhere in their name or used a silhouette of soldiers in their logos."
