Lately, I see and hear from all the sides how wonderful solar energy is for anyone. I appreciate the idea- it is brilliant - harvesting free energy of the Sun, BUT I do not like the way that the industry is becoming increasingly commercial, which often goes hand in hand with the destruction of the environment and big corporations ravaging the planet for resources.

I am afraid we are heading more the way of creating another huge problem - like how it has happened with plastic.

What are your thoughts?

If everyone would have gone one child only or less and all solar, last century, we might have had a chance. How will we stop this?

I'd look into geothermal.

I don't see how other industries can overexploited the solar energy to be honest. Sure it's a great innovation that its becoming popular and it will be overcommercialised but it wont affect the energy fountain (the sun)

There is a lot of profiteering going on and stupid grid thinking with fields of panels. The best thing is self installing, it is not really that hard to do. There are plenty of books out on how to do it and many at local libraries, free to read. All power should have transitioned to non-emissions power back in 1994 as per Hansen's "Storms of My Grandchildren" in 2008. Gen 4 waste using nuclear for areas without hydro, tidal/wave, solar or wind. It is probably too late, but might as well die trying.

It's a problem of our world. Most people wouldn't even move a finger if there is no money in that. We have a war with drugs, war with "war's", war with pollution but why don't we have war with homelessness? There is no money in that.

We have 11 years to the start of extinction of almost all surface life on Earth with millions of years recovery time, all from human gross overpopulation, general stupidity, and greed. It is advisable to pray for Divine Intervention on behalf of all the good life and few good humans.

I've been on self installed solar power for 23 years now, and it saved me enough to pay off the low mortgage in 8 years. If you don't have the gumption or earned good credit, it takes twice as long to pay off. It depends on your area. Some are hacked by fossil fuel and grid interests.
