Here's a slightly different tack on this......

Is profit the goal here, once all is said and done?

What's gotta be first consideration? Green, then worry about if it loses money, or only green methods that lead to a profit need be considered?

So? This just isn't a subject anyones interested in?

If you are speaking of private industry, no, the profit does not have to be a motive as long as it does not negatively affect profit. The positive impact on profit will always be a factor that is consdiered. If you are speaking of government or action enforcement, only significant negative impact on the profit of companies is considered if there are no other functions involved such as heath or safety of the population.
this is in our society, of course, as in otehr countries things often work differently.

Again; we have to find that point where we can be as green as posssible and profitable enough to keep doing so.

I fear I'm turning this into a discussion, not about writing.
