Since the major code upgrade, have you noticed anything that is broken around here?

I'll start:

- the "new topic" button looks funny (fixed)
- a lot of secondary buttons are blurry... not sure what the problem is (fixed)
- some of the emoticons have a black background (fixed)
- the word Forum appears twice in the path at the top of each page (fixed)

Anything else that you've noticed?

Just what you've already fixed. I haven't noticed anything else.

Hi Josh,

I tried to make a minor change in my profile and got this instead of the confirmation window. Might be inactivity on my part but thought I'd mention it to you anyway.

That bug's been fixed... I think now everyone on the board will have spell checking on as a default.

Can we disable the spell check if we want to?

You can Archer. The option is in your Profile settings, under Preferences.

For some reason that I still need to uncover, users are not able to upload new Avatars (the images that some folks have associated with their account). I lost mine in the process of discovering this bug.

DO NOT change your avatar right now, as it will cause your old one to be lost. I'll let you know if and when I get this fixed.

The act of trying to upload a new one (which is what I was trying to do) generated an error message and deleted my old one. If you really want to try it, feel free to not heed my warning and upload a new avatar image and see what happens for yourself.

If I can't fix the problem, I may have to disable the avatar function for a while until I have time to debug. This is caused by my adding some mods to the site and one of those mods is conflicting with the Avatar posting code.

I didnt have time to read the errors before the page refreshed put seems like a write permissions error. Could be worth looking at cmod for that folder.

The first two errors are permissions related, but I chmod'd to 777 just to see if that might fix things (it didn't). I think the real error to deal with is the header errors that show up under the first two, dealing with creating cache files and stuff. That goes a bit beyond my skillset, so I'm poking around the phpBB support boards for an answer.

If you have any suggestions, I'd be more than happy to hear them.

So I just went back and looked at it again and it wasn't the chmod rwx permissions that were messed up, it was the ownership of the directory that was messed up.

Problem solved. Thanks for your help in debugging it. I find that it always helps having a second pair of eyes on such things.

ps- all that so I could put up a more recent goofy picture of myself...

If you combined all the snow we've had down here since I've been alive, we still wouldn't have enough to do that. Must be nice!
