http://cleanwateradvocates.org/The coal fired car ferry, SS Badger, based in Ludington, MI takes passengers from Ludington, Michigan to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, along this route they dispose of their used coal ash by discharging it over the side of the ship and directly into Lake Michigan. Coal ash contains toxic metals such as arsenic, lead and mercury, which is being dumped directly into Lake Michigan every time the Badger crosses, which is daily.
Wisconsin's governor, Scott Walker, has written the Environmental Protection Agency asking that they give the SS Badger permission to continue dumping this toxic sludge off the ship and into Lake Michigan.
Please take a moment to sign the petition and tell Scott Walker that you don't want this toxic ash to be dumped into Lake Michigan!
Let's keep the lake clean and serene for future generations to enjoy!
Thank you!
