I'd have to agree with that. I don't mind receiving or giving a witty insult like that. Keeps things interesting on both sides.

but regardless you begin to get into judgement calls. you know like interpretting the meaning of the word "coon"...(and no this is not a stab at anyone...its an observation on judgement calls).....or how anyone takes the so called "witticism".

as well the over use of the eye rolling emoticon gets to be kind of redundant as well, as folks use that as a statement of..."oh god, here's another moronic comment from you i need to be sarcastic about". the perfect example of passive aggressive communication.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying, but a lot of mod. actions are judgement calls anyway, so I don't see that being a problem. I could be wrong, though.

Archer you are a dirty racist. Stop posting to me dirty racist.

Maybe you need to take a big chill pill and actually look at what you quoted. You should notice that Archer replied to Wijim who replied to Sandra and none of the references quoted mention you specifically or quote you.

So, calling someone a "f&*ing moron" is entirely out of the question, but something like, "I've seen bigger brains in rocks." is acceptable.

Awesome.
I don't know, that second one wasn't all that creative.

LOL...okay, I agree.

Reword: it's okay to slam people, as long as the slam itself is polite in nature, i.e., primarily no profanity/namecalling. Extra points will be given for cleverness and creativity. :D

jeez just how thin is your skin? even when i use the word "coon" in reference to nothing but it as a word used as a shortened form of racoon which has been explained to you...you feel the need to go off and completely destroy a thread let alone call names to a person you have yet to assrt that they are.

Get a life will you. coon is a racist word. Archer is a racist. He stops posting to me and you stop using the word and I will stop. Until that time I will carry on until banned. Simple. If you want to get back on track then do it. Archer can leave me out and you all can stop using the word coon.

If you are proposing the choice between banning Archer or you in this matter, I believe you would be the logical choice. You have attacked Archer when he was not "posting to you" and that is hard to ignore, IMO.

Take my advice and calm down.

Archer posted this. Notice the over use of the word coon

Archer wrote:
In the video where they skinned animals alive, were they skinning coons? I know we've referred to them as coons, but they looked different from the coons I'm used to seeing. Was it a different type of coon, or a different animal all together that we just labeled a coon?

I posted in reply.

The use of the word coon again archer after you knew it is offensive to us in our household and when you said you would not use it. Not a man of your word I see.

Then he posted this expecting me to reply yes.

I said that I would stop using it. I did just that. Now I have decided to start again. What's the big deal? Are you offended by it?

In reply to josh he archer replied

Before this turns into another international incident... Archer, I think you had agreed not to use that word again because it is offensive in British slang. I'm going to assume you didn't mean to taunt xveganx on that since the term is used here in the US as a non-offensive slang for raccoons. In doing some searching around, I found this article on a species that is actually known as a Raccoon Dog, which is native to Japan.

See image below:

That's an interesting animal.

Well, I found some of her words offensive, so I asked her to stop using them. She would have no part of that, so I assumed that she wouldn't mind if I used words that offended her. I will stop using it now. My point has been made.

Why would the word coon offend me? Oh, because it is racist and his INTENT was to OFFEND ME BY USEING A WORD HE KNEW WAS RACIALLY OFFENSIVE TO ME.

Now he will not GO AWAY and stop posting to me.

Now his intent was to OFFEND me and he kew just the right word to choose. The offensive word I used was bullshit a word used by other members yet he chose to have a go at me for using it.

GET the picture?[/quote]

No, I do not get the picture. You claim the word he asked you to not use is used by others as well. This is the same for the word you asked him not to use. I know he intended to "offend" you because when he asked you to show him the same respect he had shown you, you refused. Reciprocity is a wonderful thing if you wish to remain in good standing. Not only did you not show a willingness to consider his request after he had done so to you, you used the term yourself in other non-related posting. You have exhibited the most perfect example of a double standard as I have ever seen on a board and you cannot even begin to comprehend how it affects your credibility with everyone who reads this mess.

I know a couple that are around my age...They spend a great deal of their time looking for things that offend them. They "WANT" to be offended or at least have the ability to claim they are. Coon is no more racist than any other word. No one called YOU a coon or used it in any offensive manner whatsoever. You simply have found the one note you can play on and will continue strumming it until you are banned. THEN you can go on other boards and feign indignation to the youngsters who set spell bound in front of their computers reading about the injustices meted (sp) out to the truly enlightened. If I were not already inclined towards an animal use mindset, I know that as an open minded individual coming here and reading the posts I would think the AR side is full of vile hate filled individuals and wonder what their REAL agenda is.
